One Baby Daddy…

So my girl went LIVE early. Yesterday to be exact, however, with today being the official release day, I want to give away a copy of Meghan Quinn’s One Baby Daddy to a lucky reader…DETAILS BELOW!

OneBabyDaddyHalfCover (1)What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?”

Forget.

I need to forget. I need an escape.

Only one person isn’t falling for my reputation as the NHL’s Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend’s house. She didn’t want to hear my reason–she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy–and the perfect escape.

She’s everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.

And I do, making this summer the best off-season I’ve ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don’t expect is to get her pregnant.

And what I definitely don’t expect is having to fight for her affection.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Monday Morning Mess

monday

Literally, I am a mess this morning.

  1. I found out that I didn’t pass my teacher certification test (missed it by 10pts).
  2. I didn’t finish reading Birthday List…hell I am still on chapter one because my kid caught a case of the shits Friday and…well, yeah.
  3.  Saturday consisted of me sitting through Marvel Universe Live! with a moody 7 yr old that required a $28 Spiderman toy to bring him joy
  4. Sunday required grocery shopping, softball practice and washing my hair. And considering how thick my hair is, washing, conditioning, AND styling it takes H O U R S

so, here we are Monday morning and I am at work with a mountain of paperwork and my audible app open listening to Rachel Van Dyken’s The Consequences of Revenge trying to feel better.

How was your weekend? Tell me in the comments and if it was worse than mine, I’ll send you a copy of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s new release, Rebel Heir

Rebel HeirHow to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Pieces of Broken Duet…Review

This is the first time I am actually reviewing a series together. Feels kind of good to do so but at the same time, it’s like you can’t go on this journey with me. I know most people don’t like to read one then wait months, sometimes years to read the next book so for those of you that fall into that category, you’re welcome.

LiveMe_FrontCover_LoResBroken…
Shattered…

Evangelina Ricci is trapped in a world that’s a never-ending nightmare, a constant ache in which consumes her every breath. Unable to bear the torture any longer, she does the one thing she can to take back control.

Run.

With her best friend Jace in tow, Evangelina attempts to escape her darkened past by leaving for college and diving head first into an aggressive schedule, determined with everything she is to make a name for herself. There’s only one problem—she can’t run away from the demons she struggles with. The demons that’ll forever be there, locked inside, battering her soul. Hiding behind a flawless façade, Evangelina faces her ghosts until her world is turned upside down, invaded by…him.

Blake Turner. Sweet, witty, flirtatious and drop-dead gorgeous, he finds Evangelina at every turn. Scared he’ll uncover the truth she keeps so well guarded, Evangelina tries her best to put on her act, deterring him like she has so many times before—only this guy’s different. He’s relentless. Utterly, absolutely and completely relentless. He sees her and he wants her and won’t stop until she’s his.

Will Evangelina succeed in pushing Blake away? Or will he break down her walls and be the person to make her realize life is worth living?

Review: I didn’t know what to really do with the first book, Live Me. I went through a variety of emotions reading it. Confusion and anger seemed to top the list. The story deals with the very touchy topic of rape so if this bothers you, skip this series altogether. Evangelina “Eva” is a hard heroine to love let alone like. I empathized with the character because I’ve never been through what she had, and I appreciate the author showing her struggle with trying to be a “normal” college girl. However, she grated on my nerves WAAAYYY too often. Then I found myself feeling guilty AF for wanting her to put on her big girl panties and deal with some things like an adult. Blake, the hero, on the other hand, is the man. I loved his strength and tenacity. His playfulness and ability to love her regardless of her issues (I refuse to say broken, I swear authors wear this word out). He honestly was the reason I kept reading this book and found myself skimming often (so much freaking poetry) until the last 20-25% of the book. When I say, I didn’t see that coming. I. DIDN’T. SEE. THAT. COMING. I mean the cliffy was a major WTF moment which made rolling into book 2, Breathe You easy.

BY Dying teaser

Breathe You was easier to read. Not because the subject matter changed but because now the story is getting really good. We know whodunnit, now we wait and see how he’s gonna get what’s coming to him. I love that Ms. Grande gave this story a twist and took her time with telling it (even though I feel like book 1 could’ve been 100 pages shorter), especially with the delicate subject matter. I can’t go too deep into book 2 without ruining it. This is definitely the stronger of the two novels. I’m glad I got to read these back to back or I am sure I wouldn’t have given book 2 a second glance…that’s not true it just wouldn’t have been a priority but I would’ve gotten to it eventually. 3.5 stars for the series as a whole.

When past and present collide…
And second chances aren’t promised.

Evangelina and Blake shared a fiery, heart-pounding, live-beneath-your-skin kind of love. Until her demons came to find her, ripping him from her life. Alone once again, Evangelina tries to pick up the pieces that remain.

But one missing piece is irreplaceable.

Blake is struggling without his Angel, and every turn is a reminder of a love lost. When the burden becomes too much to handle, he decides to salvage what’s left of him—to walk away.

Hidden truths come to light.
Secrets are revealed.
And the battle of Evangelina’s life is on.

The fight for her freedom.
For her light.
For true love.

But when family is your nightmare, and the demons follow your sins, how do you climb back from the darkness?

You find your strength.
You discover your purpose.
And most important…
You remember to breathe.
